About Katherine Lopez, LMFT

Hello, my name is Katherine Lopez.

As a clinician, I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being themselves. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful work together, and I prioritize building trust, rapport, and collaboration with every individual I work with.

My approach is client-centered and tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals. I draw from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Mindfulness-Based interventions, and Trauma-Informed practices.

I am a Latina American therapist with 4 years of experience working with a diverse range of clients, different socio-economic backgrounds, and life experiences. I started my work in the school setting working with children, adolescents, and their families.

My work has included supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, emotional regulation difficulties, ADHD, relationship challenges, grief, Autism, LGBTQIA+ issues, self-harm, trauma history, and life transitions. I am passionate about helping clients develop insight, resilience, and confidence as they work toward meaningful and lasting change.

I was born and raised in Ventura County here in California. I enjoy spending my free time at the beach with a good book, exploring hiking trails, spending time with family—especially my pet dog—and engaging in creative hobbies such as crocheting and various art projects.

Seeking support can be a vulnerable step, and I am honored to walk alongside my clients throughout their journey.
