About RoxAnne Williford, LPC
My name is RoxAnne Williford. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona. I have been working with children, adults and families for over 30 years in a variety of settings such as residential treatment, psychiatric hospitals and school-based programs. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Minnesota State University Moorhead and my Master of Counseling from University of Phoenix.
My therapeutic approach is an individualized, holistic practice focusing on strengths, mindfulness and empowerment that will foster positive change. “Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life…” Naeem Callaway. I believe we are all unique. Our journeys to a more peaceful and fulfilling life are distinctive in our stories, thoughts and the ways we cope with the world. I have extensive experience and passion working with children, adolescents and adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, mood regulation, ADHD, traumas, adjustment disorders, anger and conflictual relationships.
The foundation of my therapeutic approach is established in Resiliency Theory, the ability of individuals to adapt and thrive during adversity and trauma. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy and a Person-Centered Approach to assist in empowering individuals to lead a more fulfilling life when faced with difficult situations. We will work together to create treatment goals and a plan that will help facilitate change, growth and acceptance. Your journey is just beginning, and you are resilient, strong and capable!
