About Amy Salas, AMFT

“It has been said that time heals all wounds. The truth is that time does not heal anything. It merely passes. It is what we do during the passing of time that helps or hinders the healing process.” -Jay Marshall

Hello my name is Amy Salas. I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at Fusion Care Group. I have seven years of experience working in the mental health field. I specialize in working with children, adolescents and young adults, and have experience working with this population in inpatient and outpatient settings. With children and teen clients, I help with challenging behaviors such as opposition and defiance, self-harm, anger and self-esteem issues. I am passionate about working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use. I also help with parent coaching, life transitions, stress management, and relationship issues. I utilize evidence-based therapy modalities in CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing and TF-CBT. I offer faith-based counseling to guide you in incorporating spirituality into your healing journey. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Brigham Young University and later received my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University. I aim to provide a warm, nonjudgmental, empathetic environment allowing my clients to feel safe to express themselves and feel heard and understood. I approach each client with unconditional positive regard and like to structure each session with the individual’s needs and goals in mind. I enjoy helping clients develop tools to live a meaningful and fulfilling life.
