About Sarah Hoffman, ACSW
My name is Sarah Hoffman and I am an associate clinical social worker with my MSW from University of Southern California (Fight On). I have over 3 years of experience supporting family caregivers caring for a loved one with a cognitive disorder. Family caregivers experience grief, loss, stress, depression, anxiety, burnout and many other feelings while caring for a loved one. I have experience supporting adults from ages 18 – 100 years old coming from all different walks of life experiences and many mixed emotions.
I tend to let my clients lead the direction of our sessions in a person-centered approach. Depending on my client’s goals and needs, I like to use a variety of interventions such as Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I use a lens from the Polyvagal theory and keep an eye out for ways grief, stress, and anxiety have pushed its way into our day to day life. I use a strengths based approach to help others understand and utilize their own superpowers.
I truly believe that taking care of ourself is vital to getting through the tough days and try to help my clients find a variety ways to make this a priority. Practicing what I preach outside of clinical field, I enjoy exploring San Diego, visiting family, volunteering with my dog as a therapy team, moving my body, and being crafty at home. I look forward to working with you.
