About Bethany Davidson, ACSW

Hi! My name is Bethany and I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker with 4 years of experience. I believe that openness is the cornerstone of growth and change and I bring that into the collaborative therapeutic relationship. I started my clinical experience in the elementary school setting as a school social worker then moved to a community health program where I worked with adults experiencing homelessness in addition to being diagnosed with both serious mental illness and substance use disorder. I have been trained in and implemented Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, harm reduction, crisis intervention, and positive psychotherapy in my practice. I prefer to take a strengths-based approach in sessions so be prepared to figure out what you are good at and how to use it! I have worked with children and individuals with diverse needs, backgrounds, and issues related to ADHD, Autism, substance use, trauma, self-harm, depression, justice system involvement, serious mental illness, self-image and confidence, life changes, divorce and co-parenting, as well as foster parenting and adoption. My goal during each session is for clients to walk away with something helpful to empower them in their growth.

I was born and raised in San Diego County and love being able to serve my community as an associate clinical social worker. I enjoy spending time with my blended family, gardening, volunteering with youth in Tijuana, and going to Disneyland.
