About Dr. Kim Nguyen Pierce, PhD

Dr. Kim Nguyễn Pierce is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of experience providing culturally sensitive interventions to children, adults, and multigenerational families. She received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a Masters in Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California with a double major in Psychology, Gerontology, and a minor in the studies of women and men in society.

As part of her clinical training, she has worked in various settings including: child residential treatment centers, adult substance abuse residential, juvenile halls, inpatient child and adult, and school based mental health. Other administrative and teaching positions have included working with First Five LA and UC Davis on grant funded projects to bring an evidenced based treatment program for 0-5 children and families called Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) to treatment providers throughout Los Angeles County.

Currently, she is working with UCLA on a private public partnership to increase psychological and neuropsychological testing and training for the Department of Mental Health in Los Angeles county. Dr. Pierce is also a member of the Academy of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is focused on evidenced based treatments and solution focused outcomes.

Recently, Dr. Pierce completed her certificate program in the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy. She combines her training in attachment theories, life span development, with a multicultural lens to effect changes within her clients. Dr. Pierce is a first generation immigrant from Vietnam and brings her life experience, education, and training in psychology to help all people from many walks of life to experience hope and healing. She is also conversational in Vietnamese and Spanish.
