About Edith Lagos Navarro, LMFT

Hello! My name is Edith Lagos (she/they/he), and I am a bilingual LMFT based in Los Angeles. I have been active in the mental health field for almost a decade and I am excited you are here.

I am eager to assist you in a myriad of ways, from processing grief and exploring gender and sexuality, to helping artists push through creative blocks and helping the spiritually curious find a path that is fulfilling to them.

I received my BA in Creative Writing and MA in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in the Latine community, both from Pepperdine University.

I have honed cultural experience with academic studies to provide care for the Latine community, both in English and in Spanish. Moreover, I am intimately aware of the importance of cultural humility, and whether our backgrounds are similar or have differences, I am endlessly curious about how you experience your life while referring to you as the expert in it. I am honored to be here as a chapter in your becoming.

This expands to the LGBT community, where I am both a member and ally of. I have a broad understanding of the way “family” and “marriage” can present itself from one person to the next, as well as how loaded these concepts can be. I am here to affirm your identity and experience as we work together to build your future.

In my seven years experience in community mental health, I discovered that grief was the root cause of the inflictions troubling many of my clients. Holding grief, which can come from a sudden end of a chapter in your life, lingering trauma, or the death of a loved one, I would like to help lighten the load and hold this grief with you as we process it through trauma-informed therapeutic care.

Lastly, for clients who are artists or, as I like to call it, spiritually curious, I am passionate in helping them find their paths. If you are an artist who needs assistance breaking through a block or deepening a practice, I am here. If you are a person burnt by religious institutions or curious of how a spiritual life can be beneficial to your mental well being, I am also here.

I am happy you’re here and look forward to meeting you!

“Now that you don’t have to be perfect, you can be good.” — John Steinbeck
