About Iquo Effiong, LCSW
Iquo Effiong is a dedicated social worker with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals navigating trauma, homelessness, mental health challenges, and major life stressors. She provides compassionate, client-centered care grounded in a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach, helping clients build stability, resilience, and confidence in their ability to move forward.
She primarily serves adults, including transitional-age youth and older adults, particularly those experiencing housing instability, anxiety, trauma, mental illness, and significant life transitions. Iquo also provides culturally responsive, LGBTQ+ affirming care and works with underserved and marginalized communities.
Her clinical experience includes trauma recovery, housing instability, crisis intervention, and advocacy. She has received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and treatment of anxiety and depressive disorders. She integrates practical coping strategies with collaborative goal setting to meet each client’s unique needs.
Iquo believes that no one is meant to navigate life alone. With the right support, growth and healing are possible. She creates a safe, empowering space where clients can learn, grow, and heal at their own pace. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time with her children and family, laughing, dancing, cooking, and enjoying nature.
