About Lauren Valdez, AMFT
Hi there I’m Lauren
I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel safe to explore, heal, and grow.
I primarily work with adults and young adults who are navigating anxiety, trauma, family dynamics, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I have a deep passion for supporting survivors of domestic violence and individuals from underrepresented communities. My approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy, and I tailor each session to meet the unique needs and goals of my clients.
My clinical experience spans community mental health and nonprofit settings, where I’ve supported individuals facing complex emotional and relational issues. I work through a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive lens, with an emphasis on building insight, emotional resilience, and practical strategies for change. I’m certified in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) and CPR, and I’m currently working toward full licensure in California under the supervision of a licensed clinical supervisor.
If you’re looking for a therapist who will meet you where you are and walk alongside you with care and collaboration, I’d be honored to support you.
