About Lubna Waraich, LMFT

I am a second-generation Pakistani American, born and raised in Los Angeles. Immigrant communities face distinct challenges when it comes to belonging and identity, tradition, and transformation. My experiences with these issues offer special insight into how individuals and families grow and develop, negotiate relationships, and find a sense of acceptance. I am particularly sensitive to the resistance held by some communities toward Western therapy. I want to be a catalyst for change, to help individuals and families understand and take advantage of everything that counseling can offer.

As a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, I have extensive experience in outpatient-level and school-based counseling as well as crisis levels of care. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults, and navigating the special challenges of co-parenting with the best interest of the child in mind. I have also worked with families who have autistic children experiencing behavioral issues. I believe that therapy is and should be a holistic approach. People are complex, having many layers that shape and define our identity. My creative approach to therapy emphasizes emotional regulation through sensory integration, art therapy, play therapy, and talk therapy. I will meet you where you are and help you through your journey.

I take a client-centered approach, emphasizing warmth, honesty, respect, and empowerment. I proudly adopt a bio/psycho/social/spiritual perspective, seeing all the parts that make a person whole. I utilize a wide range of modalities, stemming from Attachment Theory, CBT, Solution Focus, and Strength Base Therapy. I have worked with individuals who are struggling to understand their own Neurodiversity, anxiety, Adhd, depression, life changes/transitions, and trauma.

I welcome clients of all backgrounds and belief systems who seek to make meaningful change through empowerment and personal growth. I am passionate about helping others become more positive, create thriving relationships, and helping them develop a new narrative for themselves.

I hope to walk alongside clients on their journey to create the absolute best life they can envision for themselves.
