About Ruben Miranda, ACSW

Hello, I’m Ruben Miranda, a first generation Mexican-American therapist with multiple years of experience working in a variety of different facilities such as: outpatient and residential facilities for mental health/ substance use disorder, a community mobile crisis team, multiple hospitals (medical and psychiatric) as a medical social worker along with internship with well-known organizations providing individual/ group therapy to those in need. I began my clinical journey in Riverside County and Los Angeles County, where I supported individuals, couples, family and children enduring severe mental health symptoms of Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Bipolar I and II, General Anxiety Disorder, Major Depression Disorder, Addiction/ Dependency, grief, Adjustment Disorder, and Suicidal Ideations.

My therapeutic approach is a person-centered approach. I tend to utilize modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client Center Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and I am trained as an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapist. Each modality I practice is utilized to enhance the client’s ability to build the appropriate coping skills and empowerment to emotionally regulate, stabilize, and make conscious decisions in their unique situations.

Beyond my professional life, I enjoy watching sports. I love playing baseball on the weekends in my adult league. I also love exercising, listening to music (country music), going out with friends, and spending time in nature to help ground me.

One of my goal is to help those in need find the sanctuary, support, and loving environment they are seeking to help clients feels support, heard, and seen. I am committed to being the change this world needs to help others find the happiness they need in their times of darkness.
