Hello, my name is Viviana Trejo! I am a Mexican-American, bilingual, Licensed Marriage and Family therapist in California with over 10 years of experience. I am dedicated to guiding patients on their mental health journey and have worked with culturally diverse populations. I embrace and respect others’ individuality, values, and life experiences.

I am fluent in English and Spanish. I am experienced in working with children, adolescents, and adults. I began my clinical experience working with children ranging from 0-17 in an outpatient community setting. During a transition period of my life, I began working with older adults in a full-service partnership setting. My most previous experience led me back to working with children, young adults, and their parents remotely in a collaborative setting under another outpatient facility. I have experience working with issues related to depression, anxiety, self-harm, grief, life transitions, anger management, trauma, LGBTQ+, relationship and parenting challenges, behavioral problems, substance use, and self-esteem.

I believe that engagement and rapport building is necessary to begin a therapeutic relationship. My therapeutic approach consists of creating a safe, warm, and trusting environment for patients under my care to feel supported. I am committed to helping clients through their mental health journey and support their treatment goals to improve their lives. Modalities I have worked with include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Coping Cat, Brief Solution Focus, Motivational Interviewing, Family Functioning Therapy as well as have utilized mindfulness, aggression replacement, suicide prevention and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills.

On a personal note, I was born and raised in Southern California. I love reading, music, movies, playing games, and spending time with loved ones. I enjoy cooking, baking, and trying new things. I am always interested in learning something different and taking chances.
